Tinting Machine Jobs at a Paint Counter
A dispensing job is opened for every pack tinted on the machine. It holds the shade, the base pack and the operator, and it closes when the shaker stops.
What a dispensing job holds
From fan deck to shaker
The buyer settles on a colour at the fan deck. The counter opens a job carrying that code, the product and the pack size. An operator loads the base pack, runs the dispense on the company machine and puts the tin on the gyroshaker. Marking the job done brings base and colourant stock down and leaves the pack ready for billing. A tinted tin nobody collects moves to a list of its own, never back into plain stock.
Who uses the queue
What stays with the machine
- Dispensing itself runs on the paint company software on the machine.
- Formulas belong to the company and are neither stored nor altered here.
- Colour accuracy rests on the machine, its calibration and the operator.
- Any link to the machine software is examined before it is offered.
Frequently asked questions
Does the job record replace the machine printout?
No. Keep the printout with the tin if you want it, while the job holds the code and the formula reference for later.
Can a shade be dispensed again from the record?
The record gives you the code, the base and the formula reference to re-enter. Dispensing still happens on the machine.
What if a tin is tinted wrongly?
Mark the job spoiled with a reason. The pack then joins the tinted stock list, where the counter can offer it to another buyer.
Who is allowed to open a dispensing job?
Counter and tinting staff, as far as the owner permits. Each job records who opened it.
