Wheel Alignment and Balancing Records for Tyre Shops
Alignment and balancing are done on a machine, and the figures are usually lost once the printout is handed over. This module keeps the readings against the vehicle so visits can be compared.
What is saved for each visit
Why the history matters
A car that returns with a pull to one side can be checked against its last readings. If the settings have moved, the shop can show it. If not, the cause lies elsewhere. The owner can be told so.
Linked to the job and the bill
The readings belong to a fitting job card. The alignment charge is billed from the same card. The next alignment date can feed a reminder to the customer.
What this module does not do
- It does not read values from the alignment machine. A technician or the counter types them in.
- It does not recommend settings. The reference values come from the vehicle maker and the technician.
- It does not diagnose suspension faults. It holds the notes a technician writes.
Frequently asked questions
Can the machine printout be stored?
Yes. A photo or scan of the printout can be attached to the job card, so the readings sit with the visit.
Are two-wheelers covered?
Balancing weights and wheel notes can be recorded for two-wheelers. Alignment readings suit cars and light commercial vehicles, so the shop can switch that part off.
Can the customer see the readings?
The shop can print or message a summary of before and after figures. What goes to the customer is the owner’s choice.
Does an alignment charge depend on the vehicle?
It can. Charges by vehicle type or wheel size are set in the service list when the shop is configured.
