The Festival Scheme That Stops on the Day You Said

A scheme with no end date runs forever, because somebody will always claim it ran when he ordered. Give it a stop date and the claim answers itself.

Where scheme money leaks

The offer was for October. In the second week of November three dealers are still asking for it, and one of them gets it because the clerk is not sure. That is not dishonesty, it is a rate nobody could look up. The clerk was guessing. Written down with its dates, the scheme stops when you stopped it.

The kinds of scheme it holds

Quantity slabs

Ten cartons at one rate, fifty at another. The slab is applied from the quantity on the order rather than from what somebody remembers being promised.

Free quantity

Ten plus one, or a piece free on a bundle. It leaves the godown counted, like anything else that goes out on the lorry.

Festival and exchange offers

The Deepavali offer and the exchange bonus each carry the day they start and the day they die. Both dates are yours to set.

Printed as its own line

What was given appears on the invoice separately. The dealer sees the benefit, and your accounts team can add it up at month end.

Settling a claim afterwards

Claims are raised against the invoice they belong to, with photographs where there is damage, and followed until you settle them.

  • Claims sit against their bills, not in a WhatsApp thread
  • A credit note closes the claim and moves the ledger
  • Scheme and discount given, dealer by dealer, for the month
  • The scheme a dealer was on when he ordered
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A scheme our sales officer promised verbally is not in the system. Then what?

Then it does not exist here, and the invoice goes out without it. Somebody has to decide whether to honour it and record that decision as a claim or a credit note. The software will not invent an offer nobody entered.

Can two schemes run on the same item?

They can, and that is usually a mistake worth catching before it goes live. Overlapping offers on one item are visible when you set the dates, so you choose which one applies rather than finding out at billing.

Does the dealer see the scheme before he orders?

Yes, before he orders. The running scheme sits on the same screen as his rate and the stock, which is the point of him ordering at eleven at night instead of ringing in the morning.
