Software Solutions for Nail Product Sellers

Nail products include polishes, gels, removers, tools and decorations. Polishes and removers may be classed as flammable, so carriers can restrict them. Gels cure only under a compatible lamp. Sellers online need shipping classes, compatibility rules and trade ordering for salons.

At a glance

Classify nail products for shipping and match gels to the lamps that cure them.

A bottle of remover and a bottle of gel polish look similar on a shelf. They are not shipped, stored or used the same way.

Businesses and operating models

Polish and gel brands

A brand sells colour collections, each with dozens of bottles, and launches new ones every season.

Salon suppliers

A supplier sells professional gels, lamps, files and consumables to nail salons and technicians in larger packs.

Nail art and kit sellers

A seller offers press-on sets, stickers, brushes and starter kits for home use.

How an order moves

The workflow for nail products.

  1. 1

    Shipping class assigned

Each product carries a class that tells the system whether a carrier or destination may restrict it.

  2. 2

    Gel and lamp matched

Gel products show which lamp types cure them, and the basket warns if a gel is chosen without a suitable lamp.

  3. 3

    Collection and kit selling

A collection is sold bottle by bottle or as a set, and a starter kit includes each tool it needs.

  4. 4

    Restricted shipments routed

An order that includes restricted items is sent through a carrier and a pack type that accept them, or the item is withheld.

  5. 5

    Trade orders for salons

A salon orders larger pack sizes, sees its own prices and reorders consumables regularly.

Where it breaks

The challenges, and what they cost.

Carriers refuse some bottles

A parcel containing a flammable item is rejected at pickup. The buyer’s whole order is delayed.

Gel without the right lamp

A buyer purchases gel polish and a lamp that does not cure it. The complaint reaches support as a faulty bottle.

Collections are large

A collection of sixty colours has to be set up, priced and stocked together, and launched on one day.

Salons reorder from memory

Technicians recall colours by name and bottle size, and orders arrive as chat messages.

Requirements to assess

What is specific to this trade.

These are requirements we would confirm in discovery. They describe what the solution may need to handle. They are not features that already exist.

  • A shipping class on every product, set to your carrier’s guidance
  • Cure type and lamp compatibility for gel products
  • Collection setup tools for large launches
  • Reorder lists for salon accounts
Recommended modules

What we would build for nail products.

Chosen from the commerce capabilities this business needs, not a list of everything.

Shipping class field

A class for each product that drives carrier choice and checkout warnings.

Gel and lamp compatibility

Cure type and wattage held for gels and lamps, matched at the basket.

Collection builder

A group of shades set up together, with a launch date and set pricing.

Salon reorder list

A saved list of a salon’s regular items for repeat orders.

Users and permissions

Who works in the system, and what each can do.

Catalogue lead

Sets shipping classes and compatibility, and builds collections.

Dispatch team

Packs restricted items in the right way and picks the right carrier.

Salon account holder

Reorders consumables from a saved list.

Integrations

What it would connect to.

An integration is confirmed only after its API, access and scope are checked. A connection that updates on a schedule is described as scheduled, not real-time.

  • A carrier or aggregator whose service accepts restricted items, once its terms and interface are reviewed
  • A salon’s own supplier orders, entered through the dealer login
  • Payments collected by card or UPI into your own provider account
Implementation

How the work runs, and what we need from you.

What you provide

  • Your products with their shipping classes, as advised by your carrier
  • Gel and lamp pairings and any warnings you give today
  • Your largest collection, to test the setup tool

Settle the shipping classes with your carrier

The classes come from what the carrier will accept, not from software defaults.

Load a full collection as a trial

A collection of sixty shades tests the setup tool and the launch flow.

Deliverables

What you receive.

  • Shipping classes and carrier rules
  • A gel and lamp compatibility check
  • A collection builder and salon reorder list
Measurement

How progress is judged.

Measures are agreed against your own baseline. We do not promise a result in advance.

  • Parcels rejected or delayed for a restricted item
  • Returns of gels bought without a suitable lamp
India and international

Selling at home and abroad.

Rules for sending nail chemicals across borders vary widely, and some destinations may not accept certain items. Shipping classes and destination rules follow whatever your carrier and legal adviser confirm.

Suitable software

Beauty & Makeup E-commerce Platform and Stock Software

Configured implementation

Discovery selects the commerce platform on which the storefront and dealer catalogue are configured, and shade-level and batch-level stock rules are added around it. No existing GullySystem product runs a makeup storefront.

Shipping classes, compatibility fields and dealer ordering are all configurations within the category solution.

Common questions

Questions about nail products e-commerce.

Can the software tell which products carry restrictions?

No. You assign shipping classes from your carrier’s advice. The system then applies them at checkout and when routing orders.

Will it stop a buyer ordering a gel without a lamp?

It can warn, or block the basket, according to what you decide. Compatibility is based on the cure data you enter.

Can salons order in bulk?

Yes. A salon gets its own sign-in, larger pack sizes and prices set for that account.
