Software Solutions for Fan Sellers

A fan range runs to hundreds of variants: sweep, colour, blade count, remote, motor type and canopy. Prices are low and volumes high, so a wrong variant or a broken packet costs more than the margin. Fan sellers need clean variants, careful packing and dependable bulk orders for builders.

At a glance

Keep every sweep size, finish and motor type in the right listing.

Fans are bought for a room, a colour scheme and a ceiling height. The same model appears in many sizes and finishes, and a customer wants exactly one.

Most are fitted by an electrician the buyer already knows, so there is no installation booking. What matters is the right variant, arriving whole.

Businesses and operating models

Brands with wide variant ranges

A maker lists ceiling, table, pedestal and exhaust fans across many finishes and ships from regional warehouses.

Electrical dealers selling online

A dealer lists popular models for local delivery and takes bulk quotes for builders and contractors.

Trade suppliers to builders

A supplier sells fans in lots by project, with delivery to site and invoicing on account.

How an order moves

The workflow for fans.

  1. 1

    Variant listing

Each model is listed with sweep, colour, blade count, motor type and remote option as selectable fields.

  2. 2

    Choosing by room

The buyer filters by room size, ceiling height and noise preference, and sees the downrod or canopy options that fit.

  3. 3

    Packing for blades

Boxes are checked for blade and motor damage before they are sealed, and a packing photograph is kept for larger orders.

  4. 4

    Delivery and unboxing

Parcels go by regional carrier. Damage is reported with a photograph, and a replacement is sent against the original order.

  5. 5

    Warranty and spares

Warranty is recorded from the invoice. Capacitors, regulators and remotes are listed as spares for later orders.

Where it breaks

The challenges, and what they cost.

Variant sprawl

One model in six finishes and four sweeps makes a catalogue that is easy to get wrong, and a sold-out colour looks available.

Transit damage to blades

A bent blade or cracked canopy arrives often enough that damage claims become routine and unmanaged.

Low margins on returns

A returned fan costs two-way freight. Without clear fit and size information the cost is the seller’s.

Builder orders arrive by phone

Bulk requests for a project come as messages with quantities and colours, and prices are worked out by hand.

Requirements to assess

What is specific to this trade.

These are requirements we would confirm in discovery. They describe what the solution may need to handle. They are not features that already exist.

  • Variants with their own stock, not one listing for every finish
  • Downrod and canopy options that suit ceiling heights
  • Quantity pricing for builders, set by agreed slabs
Recommended modules

Integrations

What it would connect to.

An integration is confirmed only after its API, access and scope are checked. A connection that updates on a schedule is described as scheduled, not real-time.

  • Godown or showroom stock and billing, read on a timetable you set
  • An online payment gateway under your own account
  • Regional courier booking, if a carrier opens its interface to you
  • A sales and purchase export for your accountant
Implementation

How the work runs, and what we need from you.

What you provide

  • Your models with sweeps, finishes and motor types
  • Packing methods and carriers you use today
  • Rates agreed with builders and electricians

Variants before pages

How finishes, sweeps and motor types are held is decided first, because stock and price hang on it.

Packing trial

A few sample parcels travel by your usual carrier before the range is listed in full.

Deliverables

What you receive.

  • A variant structure for models and finishes
  • Fit notes on each listing
  • A packing and damage-claim flow
  • A trade quote request form
Measurement

How progress is judged.

Measures are agreed against your own baseline. We do not promise a result in advance.

  • Orders placed for a variant that had sold out
  • Damage claims per hundred parcels, against your own history
India and international

Selling at home and abroad.

Voltage, blade clearance and plug fittings vary across countries and are held per market in the catalogue. Showing another currency does not by itself change how payment settles.

Common questions

Questions about fans e-commerce.

Can one model have many finishes without many listings?

Yes. Finish and sweep are options on one listing, each with its own stock count.

Is installation booked online?

Not by default. Most fans are fitted by the buyer’s own electrician. Installation can be added later if you offer it.

Can a builder request a quote for many fans?

Yes. A trade form takes quantities and finishes, and the quote is reviewed and priced by your trade desk.
