Software Solutions for Shaving Product Sellers
Shaving is a razor-and-blade business. The handle is bought once, and the cartridges that fit it are bought for years. Sellers need fit data, starter kits, refill subscriptions customers can control and sealed blade packs that travel safely in the post.
Sell razors once and the cartridges for years, matched and delivered on schedule.
A razor handle is the start of a customer relationship, not the end of a sale. The cartridges come later, and they only work if they fit.
Creams, foams and aftershaves sit around that core. They are bought with the refill or separately, and each has its own pack and shelf life.
Razor-and-refill brands
A brand sells a handle at a low price and earns on the cartridges that follow.
Multi-brand shaving retailers
A retailer stocks several razor systems and needs to tell a customer which cartridge fits which handle.
Safety-razor and blade sellers
A seller serves buyers of metal razors and loose blades, who buy blades by the pack of ten or a hundred.
The workflow for shaving.
- 1
Matching the handle to refills
Every handle lists the cartridges it takes. A customer who picks a handle sees only those.
- 2
Selling a starter kit
A handle, two cartridges and a cream are sold as one kit, and each part is deducted from stock.
- 3
Setting the refill schedule
A customer chooses how often cartridges arrive, and can skip or pause from their account.
- 4
Packing blades safely
Blades are sealed in their packs and the parcel is marked for handlers. The carrier’s rules on blades are checked.
- 5
Reordering by shelf pattern
A buyer of loose blades is reminded when their pack of ten is likely to run low.
The challenges, and what they cost.
What is specific to this trade.
These are requirements we would confirm in discovery. They describe what the solution may need to handle. They are not features that already exist.
- Fit data between handles and every cartridge or blade
- Subscription changes the customer can make alone
- Failed-charge handling with retries
- Carrier conditions for blades, checked per route
What we would build for shaving.
Chosen from the commerce capabilities this business needs, not a list of everything.
Who works in the system, and what each can do.
What it would connect to.
An integration is confirmed only after its API, access and scope are checked. A connection that updates on a schedule is described as scheduled, not real-time.
- A gateway offering recurring billing, where its terms allow
- Carriers with confirmed conditions for blades
- Email, SMS or WhatsApp for delivery and payment notices
How the work runs, and what we need from you.
What you provide
- Your handles and the cartridges that fit each
- The refill intervals you offer
- What your carriers say about sending blades
Build the fit table first
It drives search, kits and subscriptions, so it comes before any plan.
Pilot with a small subscriber group
A small group runs for several cycles before more are added.
What you receive.
- A handle and cartridge fit table
- Kit definitions with part-level stock
- Subscription flows with skip and pause
- Failed-payment rules
How progress is judged.
Measures are agreed against your own baseline. We do not promise a result in advance.
- Returns because a cartridge did not fit
- Subscribers who cancel after a failed charge
Selling at home and abroad.
Subscription and recurring-charge rules differ by country and by card network, so renewal notices and cancellation terms are set per market with your adviser.

Razor-and-refill subscriptions are not part of any GullySystem product today. The fit rules and delivery schedules are built on the platform you and we agree on in discovery, and what it cannot do is scoped separately.

Questions about shaving e-commerce.
Can a customer change a cartridge type mid-subscription?
Yes, from their account, and the next delivery and charge follow the change. Limits on swaps are your rule.
Does it work out when blades should be replaced?
No. The interval is chosen by the customer or by you. The software does not assess blade wear.
Can kits be priced below the parts?
Yes. A kit is priced as a unit, and any saving shown is a figure you set.
