The Delivery Held Up by a Missing Approval
The car is ready and the family has fixed the muhurat for Saturday. The bank’s approval letter is somewhere at the finance desk, and the delivery cannot be raised without it.
The money side of one deal
Down payment
What the buyer has actually paid, with the receipt against the deal instead of in a receipt book.
Loan status
Applied, documents pending, approved, or disbursed. The line the executive is asked about every second day.
The EMI schedule
Instalment, tenure, and dates recorded against the buyer once the loan is approved.
What is still open
Balance due on a booked or delivered vehicle, so nothing is handed over on a promise nobody wrote down.
The file stops living on a desk
Loan papers, the down payment receipt, and the insurance copy are uploaded to the deal. When the buyer rings about delivery, the executive opens the record instead of walking to the finance desk. The desk is usually at the RTO.
The list the finance desk works from
- Bookings waiting on a loan approval
- Files missing a document, with the document named
- Down payments received but not yet receipted
- Balances outstanding on vehicles already delivered
It records finance, it does not provide it
No loan is approved here and no bank system is spoken to. What the bank or the financier says is entered by your desk, and this keeps the status, the schedule, and the papers in one place. Disbursement still happens between the lender and the dealership exactly as it does today.
Frequently asked questions
Do reminders go out before an EMI date?
They can, where the dealership is the one following up. Many leave EMIs to the bank and use reminders only for balances owed to the showroom.
Can we work with more than one financier?
Yes. Each deal records which bank or financier the file went to, and the desk can see how many files are pending with each of them.
Does it calculate EMIs for a buyer on the floor?
The schedule is recorded once the terms are known. For the quick sums an executive does during a negotiation, most dealerships keep using the financier’s own calculator.
Where do the papers live?
On the deal and on the customer record, searchable by name or policy number. The originals stay wherever your dealership keeps originals.
