Bank Reconciliation Reports and Dashboards
These reports cover the reconciliation statement, unmatched entries, uncleared cheques, bank charges, gateway settlements, and the matches and write-offs behind them. Each is read from the records the team already updates.
From import to sign-off
Each report comes from work already done in the reconciliation: statements imported, entries matched and reasons written. Nothing is typed again for reporting. A report is only as complete as the matching behind it, and the import that came before it. Open items show as open. A month still being worked on shows items that remain open.
The reports
Who acts on them
The accounts assistant works from the unmatched list and the cheque lists. The accountant reads the reconciliation statement and the write-offs before sign-off. Auditors read matches and reversals by person and date. Owners read book balance against bank balance, with uncleared and disputed items shown separately.
What the figures reflect
The figures reflect what has been imported and matched. A statement that has not been imported yet leaves a gap in the figures, and a line without a pair stays open until somebody has written the reason beside it. That is intended. Reports beyond this list are settled with the client at set-up.
Frequently asked questions
Can the reconciliation statement be run for an earlier date?
Yes. The closing date can be any date, and the statement shows the position as it stands on that day.
Can an owner see the cash position without opening statements?
Yes. Book balance against bank balance is shown account by account, with uncleared and disputed items kept apart.
Do all the reports export?
The reconciliation statement prints and exports. Whether other reports need an export format is settled with the client at set-up.
Can a report be added to this list?
Where the data is held in the system, a further report can be agreed with the client during implementation.
