Ward stock gets counted when somebody has time, which on a weekend is never. The gloves finish on Sunday afternoon. A nurse borrows a box from the floor above and nothing is written down. On Monday the store’s figure and the ward’s figure are both wrong.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a pharmacy system?
No. Consumables and ward stock are what it holds. Medicines billed to a patient belong in your clinical system with the prescription and the bill, and they should stay there.
Can our accounts team take purchase entries into Tally?
Through an export, yes. Purchase orders, goods received and vendor bills are listed here, and your accountant brings them into Tally in the format he keeps. A direct link is scoped separately.
Do we have to count every ward every day?
No, and you won’t. Most hospitals count the fast movers weekly and the rest monthly. The screen holds whatever your team actually counts, which beats a perfect figure nobody maintains.
Can material go out against a maintenance job?
Yes. Bulbs, pipe and fittings leave the store against a work order, so the cost of that repair is not lost inside a general issue.
