A driver or attendant opens the day’s trip, its stops in order, the children due at each stop and the boarding marks. Fees, parent addresses and the rest of the system are not on their screen. Keeping it that small is what makes it usable on a moving bus, and it is also how the school answers a question about who could see what.
What the record cannot tell you
It holds the licence number your office typed in and the date on the card. It does not check that number with any authority, and it has no opinion on how a man drives. Verification, and the decision about who carries children, stay with the school or the operator.

Can an attendant be moved to another bus for a day?
Yes, and her trip list follows her. The children she marks that morning are the children on the route she is actually riding.
Do drivers need a smartphone?
The attendant usually marks boarding, and it runs in a phone browser. Schools where the driver marks it work the same way, though somebody has to agree who does it before the term starts.
