Does it track the lorry?
No. The lorry number and the LR are recorded on the challan, and tracking stops there. Where the vehicle is at a given hour remains a call to the transporter.
Can the dealer see the status personally?
Yes, on their own order. The dealer sees the same stage the clerk sees, which takes routine status calls off the order desk.
What if we dispatch without an order?
A challan can be raised directly, for example on a counter sale to a dealer who has driven down. Stock moves the same way. The order screen simply has nothing to close.
