Technician Routes and Scheduling for AC Service Teams
Breakdown calls, contract visits and installation work all land on one schedule. The coordinator assigns each to a technician by area and day, and every person gets a planned list of stops.
One schedule for every kind of visit
On the technician’s phone
The technician opens the list in the morning and sees each stop with the address, the contact person and the unit. A map link opens for navigation. Each visit is marked started and finished, so the coordinator knows where the team stands.
Changes during the day
An urgent call arrives at noon. The office picks the nearest technician with a gap, moves a lower priority visit to the next day and informs the customer affected. Both changes show on the schedule.
What the schedule does not do
It does not calculate the shortest road route and does not track a vehicle by GPS. Those need a separate mapping service, which can be scoped if the business wants it. Travel time is judged by the coordinator.
Frequently asked questions
Can two technicians go to one site?
Yes. A large installation or a chiller job can have a team assigned, and each member sees the same stop on their list.
How does a technician report a delay?
The visit can be marked as delayed with a note. The coordinator sees it and can warn the next customer or reassign the stop.
Is live location tracking included?
No. The schedule shows planned stops and the times a technician marks them started and finished, not a moving position.
Can work be assigned from the phone?
Yes, for a manager. A manager away from the office can assign or move a visit from a phone.
