One system for label specifications, material lots, dies, proofs and roll records.
Label specifications, artwork approvals, face stock and adhesive lots, press queues, rotary dies, roll winding and invoices sit in one record. Each job carries its size, material, spot colours and signed proof, and each roll carries the reel lot and the die behind it. Prepress, planners, press operators, inspectors and dispatch read the same job, from first artwork to the labelled roll on the pallet.
- Label sizes, face stocks and finishes typed the way each customer words an order
- Customer list, die register and reel stock copied in at the start
- Later press and inspection edits done by our team when asked
Self-adhesive label printers run orders, proofs, reel lots, press queues and rotary dies in one GullySystem record configured to the press room. Each roll links its face stock, liner, adhesive and die to its inspection results. Core size and unwind direction follow the customer’s applicator.
What goes wrong before the software.
How the work flows through it, step by step.
- 1
Artwork and quote
Artwork arrives with label size, material and quantity, and the estimator prices film or paper area, press time, die and finishing before the quote goes out. Reorders copy the old card.
- 2
Proof and data approval
Prepress proofs colour, checks barcodes and variable data on a verifier, and files the signed approval against the artwork version before plates or digital files are released. Only cleared artwork prints.
- 3
Material and die check
The operator scans each reel and the system compares its width, face stock and lot with the job card. It then marks the cutting die as free on its rack. A wrong reel never reaches the unwind.
- 4
Printing and converting
The press prints, varnishes or foils, die-cuts and strips the matrix, and every run notes the reel lot, the anilox and the die that were fitted. Stops are logged.
- 5
Inspection and rewinding
The web passes under inspection for colour, register and barcode grade, and rolls are wound to the customer’s core and label count. Rejects are tagged and held.
- 6
Labelling and dispatch
Roll labels print, the packing list travels with the pallet, and the delivery goes out against the order it was cut for. Dispatch scans every roll.
What is inside.
Every module can be switched on, left out or changed to match how your team already works.
The business modules it is built from.
Each one is also available on its own, or inside a system built for you.
- Quote & Proposal Management
Prices are built from material area, press time, die and finishing, and a reorder shows the earlier quote beside the revised one.
- Document Management
Proofs, barcode grade checks and data files are filed with their approvals, so the press runs only the cleared version.
- Goods Receipt (GRN)
Reels are booked on arrival with width, face material, adhesive and lot, and a reel that is not booked in cannot be issued to any press.
- Production Planning
Flexo and digital presses are sequenced with inline stations, and jobs that share a reel width are grouped to cut changeovers.
- Quality Control
Colour, register and barcode grade results are entered against the roll, and a reel that fails any check is held from dispatch until quality staff decide.
- Fixed Asset Register
Each rotary die is listed with metres run, sharpening history and rack position, and it is flagged once it nears the limit that tooling staff have set.
- Batch and Serial Tracking
Serial and lot code ranges are tied to the roll that carries them, so a range cannot be printed twice by mistake.
- Barcodes and Labels
Roll labels print core size, count and splice marks in the customer’s layout, matching the packing list on the pallet.
How we would put it in.
Setup, data migration, integrations and anything built on top.
One system, each person sees their part.
For owners
See jobs on press, reel cover, die life, rejects by cause and balances by customer, without asking the press room to count. No walk to the press room.
For prepress staff
File artwork, proofs and barcode data approvals, then mark the version cleared for the press so nobody runs an old file. Plates follow the clearance.
For press operators
Read the queue, the reel to load and the die to fit, then record metres, waste and stops against the job. Nothing waits for the office.
For quality staff
Enter colour, register and barcode grade checks against each roll, then decide whether a reel is released or held. Limits follow the customer’s label spec.
For stores and dispatch
Book in face stock, issue it to jobs, rewind on the right core, then tag each finished roll before it goes on the pallet. Counts match the order.
The numbers the owner asks for.
- Jobs on press by flexo, digital and finishing station
- Face stock consumed against labels delivered
- Make-ready and stripped matrix waste per job
- Barcode grade results per roll
- Dies by metres run since sharpening
- Rolls dispatched by customer and label count
- Open invoices per customer, longest unpaid at the top
Who this is built for.
- Narrow web printers of self-adhesive labels for food and drink
- Makers of shipping and thermal transfer labels for logistics users
- Digital label printers handling short runs and variable data
- Printers who run flexo presses with inline rotary die-cutting
- Companies whose customers ask for barcode grade and colour records
When it is not the right choice.
- A shop printing a few sheet labels on a desktop printer can manage in a simple book.
- Pouch and rollstock converters are better served by Flexible Packaging Manufacturer Management Software.

Questions owners ask before a demo.
Can a roll be traced to its face stock and adhesive?
Yes. Each press run stores the reel lot, so a roll opens to its face stock, liner, adhesive, die and operator. A complaint about peeling on a cold chain pack starts from one lot number.
How does it prevent a serial range being printed twice?
Each serial or lot code range is linked to the roll that carries it, so a second job cannot use a range already issued. The block names who ran the first one and when.
Does it handle digital and flexo presses?
Yes. Each press keeps its own queue and settings, while customers, materials and invoices stay shared across the flexo and digital sides of the plant, so one customer card serves every press.
Can matrix waste be recorded?
Yes. The operator enters setup metres and stripped matrix at job close, and the waste report then shows, press by press, which jobs used more material than the quote allowed.
Can it follow die life?
Metres run are added after each job, and the register flags any die near the limit your tooling staff set, before it dulls enough to leave a ragged cut.
Can customers have fixed winding rules?
Core size, outer diameter, unwind direction and labels per roll are stored per customer, and the same figures print on the roll label and the packing list.
Can we start with live jobs?
Yes. Jobs in progress, label specs and reel stock come across from your files, and planners compare them with the press room before anything live is entered.
What can we take with us if we stop?
Job sheets, proofs and roll histories export as files in the format the quotation names, so a move to another system never strands a die register or a proof. Nothing is held back.
How is pricing decided?
Cost moves with the users, presses and stations set up, and a figure is given only after a demonstration run on your own label jobs.
