Messages and payments

Booking confirmation to a consignor, a drop message to a consignee and the lorry receipt copy, sent from the consignment. A business account and approved message formats are needed.

SMS

A plain text message for parties who do not use WhatsApp, sent through a route taken in your firm’s name. Older traders still prefer it.

Email

Freight bills with the consignment list, rate quotations and statements, sent out from your own mail domain.

UPI and payment gateway

A party can pay a freight bill online, and the receipt is posted against that bill. Your bank and the gateway settle the money.

Devices and accounts

GPS tracking devices

Where lorries carry a tracker, the position can be shown beside the trip. What is available depends on the device supplier and the feed he opens for you.

FASTag toll statements

Toll deductions can be read from the statement your bank issues and matched to the lorry and the trip. The file format is checked first.

Barcode or label printer

Part-load packages can be labelled at the booking godown and read again at a transshipment point, so a bundle meant for one branch does not travel on.

Tally export

Freight, hire and expense figures can be taken out for your accountant. The ledger layout is settled with him before the export is built.

What is settled before work starts

Each link is confirmed during scoping, because every one of them rests on another company’s system. A device supplier may not open a feed. A bank may give toll data in a format that changes without notice, which means the matching has to be checked again. We say plainly which links are ready.

Can a consignor be told the moment his load is delivered?

Yes. A message can go out when delivery is marked. The signed copy can travel with it.

Will our existing GPS devices work?

They might. The make and the supplier’s feed are checked, and a link is quoted separately once he confirms what he gives.

Does it post entries into Tally by itself?

No. Figures are exported for your accountant to bring in, after the ledger layout has been agreed with him.

Can we start without any of these links?

Yes. Booking, trips, delivery and billing run on their own, and a link is added later when you want it.
