Leave Management for Pest Control Staff

Leave management records applications, approvals and balances for field staff. Approved leave appears on the schedule, so the desk sees who is off before a treatment date is promised.

Application and approval

Dates and reason

The technician applies from his own phone, which takes less time than finding the supervisor in the yard and asking for a nod. The request is timestamped.

Approver

One supervisor makes one decision, and the date on which it was given is stored with the application. A verbal nod in the yard gives way to a record.

Balance by type

Casual, sick and any other type you grant. The balance reduces as leave is taken, so the position is known at any time.

Visible to the desk

Approved leave shows on the schedule for those days, so scheduling staff see who is away before any customer is promised a date for treatment.

Jobs already assigned

Visits already booked on those dates are flagged for the desk. They can be moved early enough for the customer to be told about the change.

Festival weeks

Several technicians may ask for the same days around a festival, while restaurants want their kitchens treated before reopening. Seeing every application together a week ahead lets the supervisor choose who to release. The clash is not found on the morning itself.

Situations it removes

  • A treatment date promised on a day the technician is off
  • Leave granted twice for the same week by two supervisors
  • A balance disputed months later for days taken earlier
  • Staff who never take leave and quietly carry the Sundays

Record, not policy

Leave entitlement, what happens when it runs out and whether monsoon weeks are blocked are your decisions. The module holds applications, approvals and balances so those decisions rest on facts. It takes no position on them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a technician apply from his phone?

Yes, from the same login he uses to close jobs on his phone. He sees his balance before applying, and the request goes to his supervisor for a decision.

What about a technician who does not turn up?

The supervisor marks the day as absent on attendance, and the desk sees the gap that morning. Whether it is later treated as leave is the supervisor’s decision, and either way it is recorded.

Does leave feed into the salary?

Yes. Attendance and leave for the month are inputs to payroll. If the marking is wrong on the day, the pay will be wrong at month end, so marking is a daily supervisor task.
