Software Solutions for Diaper Sellers

Diapers are bought every few weeks, in a size that changes as the baby grows, and the choice is often brand-loyal. Sellers online live on repeat orders, so they need schedules per baby, prompts to move up a size, stock reserved ahead and a clear answer when a size sells out.

At a glance

Turn a size-by-weight product into a schedule that keeps itself up to date.

A pack of diapers has no life of its own. It is one of twenty that a family will use in a year, and each of them in a size that will change.

Businesses and operating models

Subscription-led sellers

A seller built around scheduled deliveries, where most revenue comes from repeat parents.

Baby stores selling cartons

A store sells diapers beside gear and clothing and offers cartons for those who buy in bulk.

Crèche and hospital suppliers

A supplier delivers cartons to crèches and maternity units on a fixed round.

How an order moves

The workflow for diapers.

  1. 1

    Size and type chosen

A parent chooses pants or tape and a weight band, and sees the price per piece for each brand.

  2. 2

    Schedule created

The gap between deliveries is set, and a first delivery date appears with the next ones.

  3. 3

    Stock set aside ahead

The stock for the coming run is reserved against the schedules that need it.

  4. 4

    Prompt to size up

As the baby nears the top of a band, the parent is asked whether to move up.

  5. 5

    Skip, swap or stop

A parent changes the schedule before its cut-off, without phoning anyone.

Where it breaks

The challenges, and what they cost.

Sizes sell out unevenly

Newborn and size 3 run short while size 5 sits unsold, and parents on a schedule are the first to notice.

Parents forget to size up

A baby outgrows a pack, and the parent returns the leftovers or leaves.

Price per piece is hidden

Pack counts differ, so a cheaper-looking pack costs more per diaper.

Failed repeat payments

A declined payment silently stops a schedule, and the parent finds out when the pack runs out.

Requirements to assess

What is specific to this trade.

These are requirements we would confirm in discovery. They describe what the solution may need to handle. They are not features that already exist.

  • Schedules per baby with a size, a pack and a gap
  • Price per piece shown on every pack
  • Stock reserved ahead for scheduled runs

Integrations

What it would connect to.

An integration is confirmed only after its API, access and scope are checked. A connection that updates on a schedule is described as scheduled, not real-time.

  • A payment partner that offers repeat charges, once it confirms what it supports
  • A courier route for weekly runs, once the carrier’s service is understood
  • A supplier’s stock sheet, for sizes that are short
Implementation

How the work runs, and what we need from you.

What you provide

  • Your range with weight bands and pack counts
  • How you treat a sold-out size
  • Your current repeat customers, if you have any

Settle the size ladder

The size bands and the substitutes are agreed first, because every schedule leans on them.

Load a few customers

A small group of repeat customers is moved over, and their schedules are checked by hand.

Deliverables

What you receive.

  • A size and pack catalogue
  • The recurring order flow
  • Size-up prompts
  • A purchasing view of schedules due
Measurement

How progress is judged.

Measures are agreed against your own baseline. We do not promise a result in advance.

  • Schedules that stopped after a failed payment
  • Parents who moved up a size without contacting the desk
India and international

Selling at home and abroad.

A parent abroad may want the brand’s local size labels and a different pack count. Cross-border parcels of bulky, low-value items rarely suit courier rates, so many sellers serve one country.

The wider requirements for baby products are on the Baby Products page.

Common questions

Questions about diapers e-commerce.

Can a parent pause a schedule?

Yes. Up to the cut-off, a parent may hold or skip one delivery, and later dates stay in place.

Can diapers be returned?

Not once a pack is opened. A sealed pack of the wrong size can be exchanged, under terms you set and show before payment.

Can crèches order cartons?

Yes. A crèche account sees its own carton rates and a standing order, and is invoiced on terms you hold for it.
