Software Solutions for Tyre and Wheel E-commerce Sellers

A tyre is bought by size, load and speed rating, and it is often fitted by someone other than the seller. Online sellers need a search that finds the right size, stock counted by size and brand, a fitting booking and warranty details kept against the serial. Read on for the workflow, the weak points and the software that fits.

At a glance

Sell tyres by size and fitment, with fitting, exchange and warranty on record.

Nobody browses tyres for pleasure. A buyer arrives with a vehicle, a size printed on a sidewall and a deadline, and leaves if the page cannot confirm that the tyre fits.

Most sellers also run a fitting bay or depend on partner fitters. A sale is therefore a product, an appointment, an old casing to collect and a warranty that starts at fitting.

Businesses and operating models

Dealers with a fitting bay

A dealer lists the sizes it stocks, takes payment online and books the buyer into its own bay. Stock, fitting jobs and billing sit in one shop system.

Online sellers with partner fitters

A seller holds stock centrally, ships to a fitting partner chosen by the buyer and pays the partner a fitting fee. Two businesses touch one order.

Wheel and alloy specialists

A seller of alloys and steel wheels lists by vehicle, bolt pattern and finish, and often sells wheel and tyre together as a package.

Distributors serving fleets and dealers

A distributor sells cartons and sets of tyres to garages, fleets and sub-dealers on account, at rates agreed with each.

How an order moves

The workflow for tyres & wheels.

  1. 1

    Finding the right size

The buyer enters a vehicle or reads a size from the sidewall. The catalogue shows the tyres that match, with load and speed rating beside each.

  2. 2

    Choosing brand and pattern

Several brands and patterns fit one size at different prices. Stock counted per size and pattern tells the buyer what can be fitted this week.

  3. 3

    Booking the fitting

The buyer picks a bay or partner and a time. The order carries the tyres and the fitting charge, with balancing and alignment added where chosen.

  4. 4

    Fitting and old casings

The fitter records the tyres fitted against the vehicle number, notes the manufacture week and takes back old casings where an exchange was agreed.

  5. 5

    Warranty and the next visit

The serial and fitting date are kept with the invoice. A claim, a rotation reminder or a replacement a few years on starts from that record.

  6. 6

Closing the order in the books

Tyre sales, fitting income and exchange credit reach the shop’s stock and accounts, so the website and the counter report one set of figures.

Where it breaks

The challenges, and what they cost.

The wrong size is ordered

A buyer copies a size from memory or from an older tyre. The tyre arrives, does not fit and comes back unused with a fitting slot wasted.

Stock by size is counted by eye

A shop holds dozens of sizes across brands. A website that shows a tyre as available before anyone checks the rack leads to cancelled bookings.

Old stock is not visible

The manufacture week sits on the sidewall, not on the listing. An older tyre stays at the back with nothing to flag it.

Fitting partners work from messages

Appointments, tyre details and payments reach the partner through chat. Who fitted what, and who owes whom, is rebuilt at month end.

Warranty needs the serial

A claim to the maker needs the serial and the invoice. Neither is found when the customer returns with a failed tyre.

Requirements to assess

What is specific to this trade.

These are requirements we would confirm in discovery. They describe what the solution may need to handle. They are not features that already exist.

  • Search by tyre size and by vehicle, with load and speed rating shown
  • Stock counted by size, brand and pattern, with the manufacture week of what is on the rack
  • Fitting slots that follow bay or partner capacity
  • Serial numbers and fitting dates kept for warranty
  • Rules for returning unused tyres and for tyres already fitted
  • Credit accounts and rate lists for fleets and garages
Recommended modules

What we would build for tyres & wheels.

Chosen from the commerce capabilities this business needs, not a list of everything.

Size and vehicle search

Find tyres by size, by vehicle or by load and speed rating, and show only what is in stock or can be ordered.

Stock by size, brand and pattern

Hold counts by size, brand and pattern with rack location and reorder levels, shared by the shop and the website.

Manufacture week and serial records

Record the manufacture week and serial of each tyre received and sold, so age and warranty can be read from the order.

Fitting bookings and job cards

Take a booking for a bay or partner and open a job card for mounting, balancing and alignment against the vehicle.

Old-tyre exchange

Value casings taken in against a purchase and track them until they are sold on or disposed of.

Warranty claims

Log each claim against the invoice and serial and follow it to the maker’s decision.

Fleet and dealer accounts

Give garages and fleets their own rates, credit limits and statements.

Users and permissions

Who works in the system, and what each can do.

Counter and online order desk

Confirm sizes with buyers, take fitting bookings and handle changes. Sees stock by size, not purchase cost.

Fitting bay technicians

Open the day’s jobs on a handheld screen and record tyres fitted, readings and old casings taken.

Fitting partners

See only the orders booked into their bay and mark each as fitted.

Fleet and garage buyers

Place repeat orders at agreed rates and download their own statement.

Owner or purchase manager

Watches size-wise stock, reorders from distributors and approves exchange values.

Integrations

What it would connect to.

An integration is confirmed only after its API, access and scope are checked. A connection that updates on a schedule is described as scheduled, not real-time.

  • The shop’s tyre stock, fitting and billing system, such as GullySystem’s Tyre Shop Management Software
  • An online payment gateway in your name, for card and UPI collection
  • Purchase orders to distributors and brands, sent from the order list by file export at first
  • Couriers able to carry bulky round parcels, after API access and rates are checked with each
  • WhatsApp Business messages for booking and rotation reminders, after the account is approved
Implementation

How the work runs, and what we need from you.

What you provide

  • Your size list with brands, patterns and current rack counts
  • How fitting, balancing and alignment are priced and booked
  • Your shop or partner system, and what it can share

Settle the tyre record

We agree how a tyre is described, since every search, price and warranty record depends on size, pattern and serial.

Connect stock and fitting

Online orders are tied to the shop’s stock and bay calendar, then tried with sample bookings before customers use them.

Open with a few sizes

A short list of popular sizes goes live first, so counts on the website can be compared with the rack.

Deliverables

What you receive.

  • A catalogue structure for size, load rating, brand and pattern
  • A fitting booking flow with bay or partner calendars
  • Order, exchange and warranty records tied to the serial
  • Fleet and dealer ordering, where you sell to them
  • A written guide and training sessions for the counter and the bay
Measurement

How progress is judged.

Measures are agreed against your own baseline. We do not promise a result in advance.

  • Orders cancelled because a size was out of stock
  • Tyres returned because the size did not fit
  • Warranty claims with the serial and invoice found on the first look
India and international

Selling at home and abroad.

Size notation and units

Tyre sizes are written in different styles in different markets, and pressures are quoted in different units. The catalogue holds the size once and shows the style a buyer expects.

Shipping and fitting abroad

Tyres are bulky and wheels are heavy, so carriage is priced by size and weight. A buyer abroad also needs a fitter, which is arranged per market.

Labels, marks and returns

What a tyre must carry, and how long a return is allowed, differs from one market to the next. The catalogue shows what you specify. Your adviser checks the rules region by region.

Currencies

Showing a price in another currency is a display choice. Taking payment in that currency is a matter for your gateway and your bank.

Common questions

Questions about tyres & wheels e-commerce.

Does it replace the system in our tyre shop?

Not necessarily. Where the shop runs GullySystem’s Tyre Shop Management Software, the website is added on top of it. Other shop software is looked at first, to see what it can export.

Can the website confirm that a tyre fits my vehicle?

It can match a size and, where you hold vehicle data, a vehicle. The data comes from you or a supplier, and the buyer is still shown the size to check.

Can we sell tyres online and fit them elsewhere?

Yes, through partner fitters. Each partner’s booking, payment and settlement are set up and checked before that partner appears on the site.

Does the system decide warranty claims?

No. The maker decides. The system keeps the serial, the invoice and the inspection notes together and follows the claim to the decision.
