Exchanges, Returns and Credit Notes for Clothing Stores
A garment bought on Sunday comes back on Tuesday for a bigger size. The original bill is found, the piece returns to its box, and any balance sits on a credit note.
Finding the original bill
What happens to the piece
Staff decide whether the returned garment can hang again. A piece in sale condition goes back into its own size and colour box and becomes available to the next customer immediately. A soiled or altered piece is held aside instead, under a reason you list, and the owner sees what has collected there.
Settling the money
What the shop sets
- The exchange window, and which categories are kept out of it
- Whether inner wear and sale pieces can come back
- How long a credit note stays usable
- Which roles may override a window or approve a refund
What this module does not do
- It does not judge whether a garment is in sale condition
- It does not move money back to a card or UPI handle
- It does not write your return policy for you
Frequently asked questions
Can a credit note be used at another outlet?
Yes, where outlets share one record. The note is read by number and its balance follows the customer.
What if the customer has no bill copy?
The mobile number, or the tag still on the garment, finds the sale. Staff then see the date and the price paid.
Can a returned piece be blocked from the rack?
Yes. It is held aside under a reason you list, and the owner can read what has gathered.
Is a part-used credit note tracked?
Yes. Each use is recorded against the note, and the balance left shows at the counter.
