Dentist Share and Payouts for Dental Clinics
Associate and visiting dentists are often paid a share of what they treat. This module works out each share from the procedures completed, using the rule the clinic has set for that particular dentist.
How a share is worked out
At month end
A statement for each dentist lists patients, procedures and the share earned, with the rule used to reach it. The owner checks it. Then the payout is recorded. A dentist who questions a line can be shown the bill behind it.
Who sees what
Each dentist sees only their own statement. Owners see all of them. Front desk staff do not see shares at all, unless the owner gives that access to a named person.
What it does not do
It does not pay anyone, and it does not deduct tax. Whether tax is cut from a payout, and how it is shown, is a matter for the clinic’s accountant. Salaried payroll sits outside it.
Frequently asked questions
Can different dentists have different rules?
Yes. Every dentist has their own rule, and a change takes effect from the date the owner sets.
Is a dentist paid on cancelled bills?
No. A cancelled or refunded procedure drops out of the statement, following the rule the clinic has set for refunds.
Can a visiting dentist work at two branches?
Yes. Procedures from both branches appear on one statement, with the branch shown against each line.
Can the statement be sent to the dentist?
Yes, as a printout or a file, once the owner has checked it.
