Fire and Travel Policy Records for Insurance Agencies
Fire and travel policies are sold less often than motor and health, and they ask for different facts. This module holds the property or the trip, so each one is easy to find again.
Fire and property policies
A shop, godown or small factory is insured against a named list of risks. The record keeps what the proposal described, so that a surveyor’s visit after a loss starts from the declared facts.
Travel policies
A travel policy runs for a trip, not a year. The record holds the traveller, passport number, destination, departure and return dates and the plan chosen. Policies are short. The dates matter more than a renewal reminder does.
Seasonal selling
Travel enquiries cluster before holidays and visa appointments, and the rush is brief. A list of upcoming departures lets staff see which clients have not yet bought cover. Fire policies renew yearly. They follow the same reminder list as motor. Travel does not.
What the client decides
- Which fire and package products the agency offers
- Which property facts staff must record before a quote
- Whether travel policies are sold at all
- How a lender’s interest is noted on a policy
- Which other general lines get their own fields later
Frequently asked questions
Can we record a policy with several locations?
Yes. Each insured location is listed with its own sum insured, under the same policy.
Are marine and engineering policies covered?
They can be added as further lines with the fields you need. This is agreed with you during scoping.
Do travel policies get renewal reminders?
No. They end with the trip. The system lists departures and return dates so that staff can follow up before the next journey.
Does it value the property for us?
No. The sum insured is entered as the client and the insurer agreed it. Valuation is not part of the software.
