The customer was due in October, and he had the work done somewhere else.
Service reminders keep the dates that bring a customer back: the next service, a contract visit, a booster due, an insurance or PUC expiry. Each becomes a line on today’s list with a message already written in your words. Somebody at your counter still presses send, and records that he did.
The register says the last service was in April. Nobody reads the register. Six months on, the car is in another workshop, and you learn it only because he stopped picking up the phone.
The date is set when the job is closed, not copied into a calendar afterwards. As it comes near, the entry turns up on a list with the customer, the vehicle or the pet, and a message ready to go. Your advisor sends it from your own number and marks it done.
What service reminders does.
The date set at closing
Delivering the job stamps the last service date and sets the next one. Insurance, warranty and PUC dates live on the same vehicle.
Today’s list, not a monthly report
Due this week, due today, and overdue. Work it while the tea brews.
A message per kind of reminder
Oil change, quarterly visit, vaccination booster. Each has its own wording, written once by you, with a booking link if you have one.
Sent by a person
Nothing goes out on its own to everybody. The advisor sends, and the entry is marked followed up with his name on it.
What came of it
Booked, declined, no answer. A customer who has said no twice stops getting the same message a third time.
Quiet customers, listed
Names that have not come back beyond their usual gap, so the call goes out before the habit breaks.
The people who open this every day.
Service advisor
Works the day’s reminders between vehicles and books what he can.
Receptionist
Sends the message, takes the reply, and turns it into an appointment.
Owner
Sees how many due customers came back last month. And how many did not.
It is one part of a system, not an island.
A module earns its place by what it passes to the next one. These are the connections we set up most often.

Questions owners ask about service reminders.
Can it send them automatically instead?
It can, and for most trades that is a mistake. An automatic message at eight in the morning reaches the customer who came last week and irritates him. Our Garage Management Software keeps a person in the loop: the message is ready, the advisor presses send.
Does WhatsApp allow this?
Two ways exist. A click-to-chat link opens the message from your own number for staff to send, which suits small teams. Sending in bulk needs the WhatsApp Business API through a provider, with templates approved first, and that is set up during the work.
Which products already do reminders?
The garage product handles service, insurance and PUC dates. Our pest control software sends visit and renewal reminders, and the veterinary one tracks vaccination and booster dates per pet.
Our customers may find it a nuisance. Fair?
Fair, if you send too often or to everyone. Keep it to the date that genuinely matters to him, stop after two refusals, and send from a number he recognises.
