Death and Maturity Claims for Life Insurance Advisors

A claim passes from intimation through documents and insurer queries to settlement. This module keeps one record of every step, so the family is not asked for the same paper twice.

What a claim record holds

Intimation

The date the insurer was told, the claim number and the person who reported it. The first entry is made on that day.

Claimant and nominee

The nominee, the claimant and their relationship to the life assured, as entered on the policy and in the claim form.

Documents

The death certificate, claim forms, identity proofs and bank details are listed with a tick as each is collected and sent.

Insurer queries

Each requirement the insurer raises is logged with its date, the reply sent and the date the insurer closed the query.

Settlement

The decision, the amount paid and the date, noted once the insurer reports it.

Who works on a claim

The advisor stays in touch with the family, since these are usually difficult conversations. The desk collects and files the documents. The owner reads open claims to see which are waiting on papers and which on the insurer. Tone stays with people.

Where it leads next

A settled death claim closes the policy in the register and ends its due dates. A maturity claim that raised a query follows the same path. The call log stays as the agency’s own history of how each claim went, and who handled it.

What the agency sets up

  • Document checklists for each insurer and each type of claim
  • Who in the agency owns a claim from start to finish
  • Message wording to the family, kept short and plain
  • Whether claim updates are shared with the nominee by WhatsApp

What this module does not do

It does not decide a claim. The insurer alone settles it. It also gives no legal advice on succession or nomination, and claim rules differ by insurer and by policy, so the agency follows what the insurer asks for.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the claim be followed from the family’s view?

Yes. The family file shows the claim, its documents and the last call, so anyone at the desk can answer.

Does it handle both death and maturity claims?

Yes. Both use the same record, with a checklist that differs by claim type.

Can claim documents be stored in it?

Yes. Scans and photos are attached to the claim, with the date each was sent to the insurer.

Will it tell us how long the insurer is taking?

It shows the days since intimation and since the last insurer reply. Insurer timelines themselves are not predicted.
