Plan Details and Riders for Life Insurance Advisors

Each policy carries its plan type, policy term, premium paying term, riders and benefit schedule. These details decide when premiums stop, when benefits arrive and what the family is covered for.

Details held for each plan

Plan type

Term, endowment, whole life, money-back, pension or unit-linked plan, named as the insurer names it. The name is copied, not guessed.

Terms

Policy term and premium paying term are held apart. A plan may need premiums for fewer years than it runs.

Riders

Accidental death, critical illness and waiver of premium riders are listed, each with its own cover and premium.

Benefit schedule

Dates and shares of survival benefits, maturity value and bonus are entered as the policy document states them.

Why the advisor keeps this together

A family may hold five plans with five different terms. Cover in one plan may end while another carries on. With terms and riders in one place, the advisor can read what a family is protected for today, and which cover is due to end next year.

Where it leads next

The benefit schedule feeds the maturity and survival dates. The premium paying term tells the due calendar when the last premium falls. Riders show on the family’s cover summary, beside the base plan they belong to.

What the agency sets up

  • The plan list for each insurer you work with
  • Rider names as your agency records them
  • Which extra fields to show for unit-linked plans
  • Whether bonus declarations are kept on the record

What this module does not do

It does not prepare benefit illustrations and it does not work out bonus or maturity value. Figures are typed from the insurer’s papers. Fund values for unit-linked plans come from the insurer’s statement. It does not recommend a plan.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a plan with a limited premium paying term be recorded?

Yes. The premium paying term is stored apart from the policy term, so the last premium date is known well before it arrives.

Are riders linked to the base policy?

Yes. A rider sits under its policy with its own cover amount and premium, and shows on the family summary.

Does it calculate maturity value?

No. The maturity amount is entered from the policy document or the insurer’s letter.

Can unit-linked plans be recorded?

Yes. They are held as policies with the extra fields you choose, and fund values are noted from the insurer’s statements.
