Premium Receipts for Life Insurance Advisors

Each premium paid is recorded against its policy with date, amount, mode and receipt number. The payment history of a policy can be read in one list.

What is noted at payment

Date and amount

The date the money was paid and the amount, matched to the due that it covers. Part payments are shown as part.

Mode of payment

Cheque, cash, UPI, bank transfer or auto debit, each recorded with the reference number that the bank or the app gives back. No guesswork later.

Paid to

A premium may go straight to the insurer or through the advisor. The record states which one it was, so the desk knows whose receipt to ask for.

Receipt

The client’s receipt reaches them by WhatsApp or email. The insurer’s own receipt copy is attached beside it once the insurer issues one.

Premium history of a policy

Every policy carries a list of premiums paid, with the due date each one covered, so a year of payments can be read without opening a file. A gap shows where a premium is missing. A request for proof of payment is answered from this list, without a hunt through files.

Where it leads next

Recording a receipt clears the due on the calendar and sets the next one. A late payment is shown as late, so the lapse list stays accurate. Commission lines are later matched to these premiums, which keeps one source for both.

What the agency sets up

  • Receipt layout and numbering for the agency
  • Payment modes the desk accepts
  • Who may record or reverse a receipt
  • A UPI link or payment gateway, if the agency wants one

What this module does not do

It does not issue the insurer’s official receipt, which is the one that counts. GullySystem keeps the agency’s own record of what was paid. Whether an agency takes premium money from clients at all is for its owner to decide.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a receipt be reversed after a cheque bounces?

Yes. The receipt is marked reversed with the reason. The due returns to the calendar.

Are premium payments made directly to the insurer recorded too?

Yes. The desk notes them as paid to the insurer, so the due is cleared on the calendar even though the agency never handled the money.

Can a client receive a receipt on WhatsApp?

Yes. The receipt can go over WhatsApp or email once those channels are set up in scoping.

Does it show premiums paid in a financial year?

Yes. The payment list can be filtered by date, and a client’s statement is prepared from it. Tax use of that statement is for the client’s accountant.
