Crew Allocation and Attendance for Painting Contractors
Painters, helpers and mestris are assigned to sites by day, and attendance is marked at the site. That one record feeds both the wages payable and the labour cost of each job.
Who is assigned where
Marking attendance at the site
The supervisor marks each person present, absent or half-day on a phone. A site with no attendance by noon can be flagged to the owner. The marks are kept against the site, not only against the painter.
What the record is used for
Wages are worked out from the days marked. Site labour cost is read from the same days. A quotation won at a labour rate that no longer fits is visible once real days are set against it.
What the module leaves out
It does not decide who is a good painter or where the mestri sends his men. Biometric or face-based attendance devices are not part of the base setup. Whether they suit scattered home sites is a question we raise during scoping.
Frequently asked questions
Can a painter work at two sites in a day?
Yes. Attendance can be split between sites by half-day, and each site carries its share of that person’s wage.
Can I see which crew worked on a particular site last month?
Yes. The site record lists every person marked there, with their days, which also helps when a client questions the labour on a bill.
Does a mestri’s gang get a single payment?
Where that is how you pay, the gang total is paid to the mestri and the split among the painters is noted. This is set up around your practice.
Can painters mark their own attendance?
That is possible by phone, but many contractors prefer the supervisor to mark it. Which way suits you is decided during set-up.
