Painter Wages and Advances for Painting Contractors
Wages for painters, helpers and mestris are worked out from the days marked at sites or from the area painted. Advances given and recovered sit beside them, so the balance due is clear.
Ways of paying a painter
Advances and recoveries
A painter asks for money before a festival or when a family member falls ill. The advance is entered with the date and the amount. It is recovered in part from each wage payment, in the way you have agreed. The balance falls each time.
The wage list
When the week or month closes, the accounts desk gets a list of every person, the days or area, the advances recovered and the balance to pay. The same figures show the labour cost of each site. Nothing is entered twice.
What the client decides
Rates, how often wages are paid and the rules on advances are yours to set. The software does not decide wage law or deductions. Statutory dues, if any apply to your crews, should be put to the client’s accountant or advisor.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pay some painters daily and others by area?
Yes. The basis is set per person, so a daily-wage helper and a piece-rate painter are worked out side by side.
Is there a record of what I have paid each person?
Yes. Every wage payment and advance is dated and kept against the person, so a dispute can be settled from the record.
Does it pay painters through the bank?
It prepares the amount to be paid. Whether you pay in cash, by UPI or by transfer is your choice, and the mode is noted on each payment.
Can one painter’s wage be split across sites?
Yes. Days at each site are separate, so every site carries only the labour spent on it.
