The site engineer raises indents for cement, steel, sand, and aggregates, the office buys from suppliers, and materials arrive with delivery challans that get photographed and sent on WhatsApp. Labour contractors bring gangs, and their weekly bill is settled on Saturday in cash or transfer.
Every month you measure work done and raise a running account bill to the client, who certifies it after their own measurement, often with deductions. Retention and TDS come off each bill. The site engineer sends a daily progress report, but costs are compared with the budget only when the project closes.
