Painting Contractor Quotations by Area and Coat
A quotation is built from the measurement sheet and your rate card. Interior, exterior, wood and metal work are priced by area and by coat, with the scope written out for the client to read.
How a quotation is built
Scope and terms on the page
The brands or shade families the client has chosen, the rooms included and those left out are listed under the rates. Your payment stages and validity date sit at the foot. A client reading it can see exactly what each line covers.
Revisions and approvals
A client asks for a different finish in the living room. The quotation is revised. The earlier version is kept. When the client accepts, the accepted version fixes the scope that stage bills later refer to.
What it does not decide
The rates are yours, and the software only applies them. It does not suggest what to charge, and it does not check your rates against a competitor’s. Whether GST appears on the quotation is for your accountant to advise.
Frequently asked questions
Can the same rate card serve interior and exterior work?
Yes. Each surface type carries its own rates, so an exterior texture finish and an interior emulsion wall are priced from different lines of the same card.
Can I send the quotation over WhatsApp?
Yes. A quotation can be shared as a PDF over WhatsApp or email, and the date it was sent is noted for the follow-up list.
What if I quote a lump sum for a flat?
A lump sum can be entered for a site. The measurement sheet stays behind it so that the crew and the material plan still have areas to work from.
Can a won quotation be copied for a similar flat in the same block?
Yes. A new quotation can start from an earlier one and be adjusted, which suits blocks where several flats share one layout.
