Paint and Material Planning for Painting Sites

From the measured area and the coats agreed, the system works out the putty, primer, paint and consumables a site needs. Later it sets what was actually used against that plan.

What is planned for a site

Paint by product and shade

Litres of primer, emulsion, enamel or exterior finish are worked out from area, coats and the coverage you assume for each product.

Putty and surface fillers

Wall putty is planned by the area to be skimmed, and crack filler by the rooms that were marked as damaged at the visit.

Consumables

Sandpaper, masking tape, drop sheets, rollers, brushes and thinner are listed for the site, so the supervisor does not discover a missing roller at nine in the morning.

Shade and finish notes

The shade code, tinting detail and sheen chosen for each room are kept on the plan, which helps when a second tin has to match the first.

Plan against actual use

As tins are sent to the site and returned, the plan shows what has been issued and what is left. A site that has used far more primer than planned stands out while the job is still running. The owner can ask the supervisor why.

Link to dealer orders

A shortfall in the plan becomes an order to the paint dealer. The order is recorded under dealer purchases, and the tins that arrive are booked to the site that asked for them.

What the client or you decide

The coverage per litre depends on the product, the surface and the painter’s hand, so the figures are yours. The software does not know the manufacturer’s numbers unless you enter them. Wastage allowance is also set by you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I set different coverage for old and new walls?

Yes. Coverage can be set per product and per surface condition, so a rough old wall is planned with a lower spread than a fresh plaster wall.

What if the client buys the paint?

The plan still lists what the site needs, which lets you tell the client how much to buy. Those tins are marked as client supplied and kept out of your cost.

Does it order paint from the dealer by itself?

No. It prepares the list and records the order you place. Sending it over WhatsApp to the dealer is confirmed during scoping.

Can leftover tins be moved to another site?

Yes. A transfer from one site to another is recorded, so the first site is not charged for paint the second one used.
