A plumbing firm prices by the metre of pipe, by the fitting and by the point of work. The rate list holds these as the firm quotes them.
Building and revising a quotation
The office starts from the site visit note and picks lines from the rate list, and quantities come from the measurements taken at the site. A client who asks for a cheaper tap or a different pipe gets a new revision. The earlier version stays on file. A dispute about what was quoted then has a clear answer.
Following the quotation
Each quotation shows as sent, under discussion, won or lost. Open ones that have gone quiet appear in a follow-up list for the office to call. A won quotation becomes a job without retyping its lines. Material and labour quantities then carry into the job for comparison.
What this page does not do
The software prices from rates the firm enters. It does not fetch dealer prices on its own. Which rates to charge, how much margin to add and what to offer a regular builder are decisions for the owner alone.

Can the same rate list serve homes and builder projects?
Yes. A firm can hold more than one price level, so a builder’s bulk work and a homeowner’s single bathroom are quoted from different columns.
How are GST amounts shown on a quotation?
As the firm sets them up. Which items carry GST and at what rate is a matter for the firm’s accountant, and the quotation follows that.
Can a quotation be sent over WhatsApp?
Yes. It goes as a document to the client’s number. Delivery through WhatsApp is confirmed during scoping.
Does an old quotation change when rates change?
No. A quotation keeps the rates it was priced with. A new revision picks up the current rates only if the office asks for it.
