Software Solutions for Plumbing and Bathroom Product Sellers

Plumbing and bathroom products are bought by size, finish and fit, and some are heavy and breakable. Showrooms, dealers and online brands selling them need catalogues that hold that detail, prices for retail and trade buyers, packing that survives transit and one stock record shared with the shop.

At a glance

Sell fittings, taps and sanitaryware online with sizes, finishes and fit matched correctly.

Plumbing and bathroom products look simple on a shelf and are fussy online. A fitting must match the pipe it joins, a tap must match the finish beside it and a toilet must suit the wall behind it.

Sellers range from showrooms with a website to dealers who supply plumbers by the carton. Their orders arrive as single items, as bathroom sets and as long trade lists.

Businesses and operating models

Showrooms with an online range

A showroom lists branded taps, sanitaryware and accessories online and sells at the counter from the same godown. Customers often browse first and visit to confirm a finish.

Dealers supplying plumbers and contractors

A dealer sells pipes and fittings by pack and length on account. Rates differ by buyer, and repeat lists are common.

Online-first bathroom brands

A brand sells a curated range through its own store and marketplaces and ships from one warehouse.

Distributors serving dealers

A distributor supplies dealers in a region against orders, credit limits and scheme terms.

How an order moves

The workflow for plumbing & bathroom products.

  1. 1

    Building the product record

Each item is recorded with size, material, finish, connection type and model number. Items that fit together are linked.

  2. 2

    Choosing and matching

A customer filters by size or finish, or builds a set. The basket warns when one item does not suit another.

  3. 3

    Pricing for the buyer

A homeowner sees a retail price, a plumber sees a trade rate and a dealer sees a distributor list. The order records which list applied.

  4. 4

    Packing by handling need

Ceramic and glass are packed differently from pipe lengths. The pick list carries pack notes, and fragile packing is photographed.

  5. 5

    Delivery and fitting

Large pieces go by freight. Where the seller offers it, an installer is booked and the order stays open until the fitting is confirmed.

  6. 6

    Returns, breakage and spares

A wrong size, a cracked basin or a missing part is raised against the order with photographs. A spare cartridge or hose is sent where the brand supplies one.

Where it breaks

The challenges, and what they cost.

Wrong size ordered

Customers choose fittings by appearance. Thread, diameter and material are easy to mismatch, and a wrong-size order travels back with freight both ways.

Finish and batch mismatch

Chrome, matt black and brushed gold differ slightly between batches. Items bought months apart may not look alike.

Breakage in transit

Ceramic and glass break in carriage. Without a packing photograph and an unboxing record, a claim cannot be settled fairly.

Spares sold as separate products

Cartridges, flush plates and hoses are bought long after the main item. If the model record is missing, the right spare is a guess.

Trade and retail prices mixed

Plumbers expect trade rates while homeowners pay list. A single price field leads to discounts typed at the counter and no record of who earned them.

Requirements to assess

What is specific to this trade.

These are requirements we would confirm in discovery. They describe what the solution may need to handle. They are not features that already exist.

  • Size, material, finish and connection type held as fields, not as words in a title
  • Links between items that fit together, and warnings when they do not
  • Retail, trade and dealer prices for one product, with the buyer’s list recorded on the order
  • Packing photographs and breakage claim handling for ceramic, glass and metal
  • Spare parts and model-number lookup for items sold earlier
  • Whether installation visits are offered, and who performs them
Recommended modules

What we would build for plumbing & bathroom products.

Chosen from the commerce capabilities this business needs, not a list of everything.

Catalogue with size and fit data

Hold size, material, finish and connection type on every item, and link the parts that fit.

Buyer-based price lists

Retail, trade and dealer prices for one product, with the list used saved on the order.

Sets and variants

Finishes as variants of one model, and sets whose parts can also be sold alone.

Pick and pack with handling notes

Packing guidance, weights and photographs for fragile and heavy goods.

Delivery and installer booking

Delivery runs and fitting visits where the seller offers them.

Returns, breakage and spares

Claims, replacements and spare parts found from the model number.

Link to showroom stock

Read the godown and showroom counts at an interval the shop and site agree on, so the website does not list what has left the shelf.

Users and permissions

Who works in the system, and what each can do.

Catalogue editor

Lists items and links parts that fit. Cannot change price rules.

Showroom and counter staff

Answer questions, quote bathrooms and handle exchanges against shop stock.

Warehouse packer

Picks and packs against notes, and photographs fragile cartons.

Trade customers

Plumbers and dealers order on account at their own rates and see their balance.

Integrations

What it would connect to.

An integration is confirmed only after its API, access and scope are checked. A connection that updates on a schedule is described as scheduled, not real-time.

  • The showroom stock and billing system, such as GullySystem’s Tile and Sanitaryware Showroom Software
  • GullySystem’s dealer-ordering product, where plumbers and dealers need trade accounts
  • Checkout through a gateway for card and UPI payment, with account billing for trade buyers
  • Freight and courier services for heavy and fragile parcels, after each carrier’s interface has been tested
  • Accounting software, updated from an exported file or a link scoped with your accountant
Implementation

How the work runs, and what we need from you.

What you provide

  • Your product list with sizes, finishes and model numbers
  • Which items fit which, as your counter staff know it
  • Your price lists for retail, trade and dealer buyers

Fit rules first

We write down which items join and match before any page is designed, since the basket and the search depend on it.

Pack and ship rules

Packing notes and carrier choices are set for fragile, heavy and loose-pack items, then tried on sample orders.

Start with one range

The site goes live with a single brand or pipe family, so shelf counts and web counts can be matched before more is added.

Deliverables

What you receive.

  • A catalogue structure for size, finish and fit
  • Price lists for retail, trade and dealer buyers
  • Ordering, packing and returns flows
  • Written handover and working sessions for your staff
Measurement

How progress is judged.

Measures are agreed against your own baseline. We do not promise a result in advance.

  • Orders where stock had to be corrected by hand
  • Returns that cite a wrong size or a finish mismatch
  • Breakage claims settled with a packing record on file
India and international

Selling at home and abroad.

Currencies and prices

Seeing a price in dollars or pounds is only a display option. Whether a payment can be taken in that currency depends on your bank and gateway.

Sizes and connection standards

Pipe sizes and thread conventions differ by country, so a nominal size may mean something else. The catalogue holds the regional size beside the base one.

Shipping heavy and fragile goods

Freight, crating and insurance for ceramics and long pipe vary by route. Carriers and your adviser say what is possible on each route.

Labelling and approvals

Which marks and approvals buyers expect varies by market. These are verified per market and shown on the listing as you provide them.

Suitable software

Plumbing & Bathroom Products E-commerce & Showroom Software

Existing product, extended

The showroom side exists as GullySystem’s Tile and Sanitaryware Showroom Software, which holds sanitaryware and fittings records, godown stock, quotations and billing. The storefront and trade ordering sit on top of that product, set up separately for each seller.

Common questions

Questions about plumbing & bathroom products e-commerce.

Does it replace our showroom billing software?

Not necessarily. With GullySystem’s Tile and Sanitaryware Showroom Software, the website is built to draw on its stock records. With another billing package, we first read what it can export and plan the link from that.

Can the site stop a wrong-size order?

Where fit links are recorded, it can warn at the basket. The links come from your own range knowledge. It does not measure a customer’s pipe.

Can plumbers see their own rates?

Yes. A trade login shows that buyer’s rates and balance, and retail visitors see list prices only.

Does it install fittings or certify products?

No. Installation and certification stay with the people and bodies that perform them. The software can book a visit and store the references you provide.
