Barcode Tags and Price Labels for Clothing Stores
Every piece on the rack needs a tag a scanner can read. The tag carries the style, the size, the colour and the printed price, and it is produced in the shop.
What goes on a tag
Printing a batch
Tags are printed against a received lot, so the quantity printed matches the pieces counted in. The store keeper picks the styles, confirms the size and colour breakdown and sends the batch to the label printer. Reprints go one at a time. A torn tag is replaced at the counter without reprinting a whole lot.

Label stock and printers
- Tag size and layout are fixed for your garments during set up
- Hanger tags, sticker labels and tag-gun strings each print differently
- Your existing label printer is checked before anything is promised
- Scanners at each counter are confirmed while the counters are listed
What the shop decides
- Which details print on the tag and which stay on screen
- Whether every piece carries a tag or only hanging stock
- When an offer tag replaces the plain MRP tag
Frequently asked questions
Will it work with the label printer we already have?
It might. We check the printer’s make and model first, and linking an unusual one is quoted separately.
Can a tag be reprinted at the counter?
Yes. Staff search the style, size and colour, print one tag, and the piece goes straight back on the rack.
Do supplier barcodes work?
Sometimes. Where a brand already prints a readable code, it can be stored against the style instead of printing fresh tags.
Can two sizes share one barcode?
No. A barcode points to one style, size and colour, which is what keeps the counts honest.
