Front Desk Check-In and Check-Out for Hotels
The counter screen carries the day’s arrivals and departures with the few steps each one needs. A stay opens at check-in and closes when the folio is settled.
Checking a guest in
Every arrival takes the same short path. Five steps, no hunting through paper.
During the stay
The counter stretches a stay, shifts a guest between rooms, adds a second occupant or raises a complaint for maintenance. A charge raised at the restaurant or laundry reaches the folio without a paper chit travelling across the property. The in-house list shows who is in which room tonight, and that is what the night shift reads at handover.
Checking out
Departure is the moment when the money and the room both have to be right. A guest at the counter with a taxi waiting will not wait while a chit is hunted for.
What this screen does not do
- Change a rate plan or a season amount
- Mark a room clean, which only housekeeping records
- Edit a settled folio without an approved correction entry
- Open a door lock unless a key card system is connected
- Set refund terms, which the owner decides
Frequently asked questions
Can a walk-in be checked in without a reservation?
Yes. The stay is created at the counter, and the amount comes from the plans valid for those nights. Clean rooms are listed first.
Is check-in blocked when the ID proof is missing?
That is settled with the owner. Some properties stop the stay until an ID is attached, others allow a note and a reminder.
How is a room shift during a stay recorded?
The stay moves to the new room from the date of the shift, and the folio continues as one bill.
Does the night shift see what the day shift did?
Yes. Arrivals, shifts, postings and complaints stay on the record for whoever is on duty.
