Monthly attendance reports come out by class and by student, with those below your cut-off listed.
A teacher still has to mark it
There is no device on the wall doing this. Attendance is a person looking at a room and pressing marks, which means a teacher who forgets is the one thing that breaks it. Schools that make it work mark at the start of the first period and have the office read the day’s register before lunch.

Is there an attendance app to install?
It runs in the phone browser rather than as a separate app. Teachers open it from a shortcut on the home screen and mark in the classroom.
Can we mark attendance for a period instead of the day?
Yes, period-wise marking is supported, which colleges and higher classes usually need. The timetable says who is teaching which section when.
What about a child who comes late?
That is a marking convention your school decides at set-up, and the office should agree it once rather than leave every teacher to her own rule.
