Crew and Applicator Scheduling for Waterproofing Contractors
Applicators and helpers are assigned to sites by day. The schedule shows who is on which roof, which accepted jobs are waiting for a crew, and which sites are on hold for weather.
Who is on which site
A waterproofing firm runs several crews at once, and a crew may move between sites in a single week. One screen holds those moves, so nobody has to ring round each morning to learn where a crew went.
Linking the roster to the job
The names on the roster carry into the stage record, so each coat shows who applied it. Attendance entered for the day also feeds the labour cost of the job. Wages are paid through whatever payroll the firm already uses.
Planning around the season
Work bunches up before the monsoon and thins out during it. The list of accepted jobs set against the crews available shows the owner when to hire an extra gang, or when to tell new clients that the wait is longer.
What the schedule leaves out
It does not forecast the weather or pick the crew for the owner. The firm decides who works where. Whether labour is paid by the day or by the area is set with the client and kept outside this screen.
Frequently asked questions
Can an applicator be on two sites in one day?
Yes. That is allowed, and the supervisor can mark the hours spent at each site.
Do applicators need to log in?
Not necessarily. The supervisor can record attendance for the crew. Whether applicators get their own phone access is decided with the firm.
Can a sub-contract gang be recorded?
Yes. The gang is entered as a team and assigned to a job. What it is paid is settled by the firm outside the schedule.
Can attendance come from a biometric device?
It can, where the firm uses a device at the godown or yard. The device and its link are confirmed during scoping.
