Dental Clinic Billing and Instalment Payments
Bills are raised from the procedures completed at each visit. Part payments are taken against the treatment plan, so the desk can show the patient the balance still due at every sitting.
Bills from completed work
Instalments over a long case
An orthodontic or implant case can run for many months. The plan holds the agreed total and a schedule of payments. Each payment is recorded as it arrives. A missed one shows on a dues list that the desk works through each week.
Discounts and refunds
A discount is entered on the line it applies to, along with who allowed it. Who may allow a discount, and any refund rule, is set by the owner.
Tax and accounts
Whether a given dental service attracts tax, and how it appears on an invoice, is a question for the clinic’s accountant. The system prints what the clinic configures. Moving figures into Tally would be quoted on its own.
Frequently asked questions
Can a bill carry GST?
Only where the clinic’s accountant says it applies. Tax settings are configured with the clinic, and the system does not decide tax treatment.
Can one family settle a bill together?
Yes. Linked family members can be billed to one payer, and each person’s treatment stays on their own record.
Can the desk see who still owes money?
Yes. A dues list shows every plan with a balance, the last payment and the next instalment expected.
Does it take card payments directly?
It records card and UPI payments taken through the clinic’s own machine or gateway. The arrangement with the bank stays as it is.
