Faculty and Staff Records and Workload
The module holds faculty profiles, qualifications, experience, department roles and workload in one record. Workload is taken from the timetable, and student to faculty ratios are computed from the same data.
One record for returns and reviews
Accreditation reviews and regulator returns ask for faculty counts, qualifications, experience and workload. Many colleges hold these in a personnel file, a teaching allocation sheet and a qualification register. This module keeps them together, so each return draws on the same data.
The staff record
Workload from the timetable
What the data is used for
- Regulator returns that ask for faculty count, qualification profile and ratio
- Accreditation visits that ask for qualification, experience and workload
- Planning, to see where a department is short before the timetable is built
- Review of uneven allocation between faculty members
Frequently asked questions
Where does workload come from?
From the timetable allocation, and not from a separate sheet. The personnel file and the teaching allocation therefore read from one source.
How is a faculty member teaching in two departments handled?
As one person with one combined load. Each department sees its own allocation, and both the workload figure and the clash check use the total.
Does it produce the student to faculty ratio?
Yes. It is computed per department and for the institution from the student and faculty records already held.
Are qualifications and experience tracked?
Yes. Degree, awarding institution and year are stored, along with teaching and industry experience. Supporting documents sit on the same record.
Can it show where a department is short-staffed?
Yes. Workload compared with the norms your college applies shows where a department is stretched. The norms are configured during implementation.
