Internships, Placements and Alumni

The module manages recruiters, drives, eligibility, applications and offers, along with internship records and alumni. Eligibility by CGPA and backlog is filtered from the live academic record.

Eligibility lists from the academic record

Placement cells often keep their own spreadsheet, updated from the exam section at intervals. A recruiter’s request for students above a CGPA with no live backlogs then means building a list by hand. Here the list is a filter on the results already held.

Eligibility from the live record

CGPA

The current figure comes from results already held in the system, and not from a copy of the mark list taken at the start of the placement season. It stays current.

Backlogs

Live arrears are counted the way the regulation counts them, since recruiters commonly set this as a criterion. Live arrears only.

Branch and year

The two filters work together, because a drive is usually scoped to both a branch and a graduating year.

Attendance

Where the college requires a minimum attendance for placement, the same rule is applied here.

Already placed

Students who have accepted an offer are handled by the college’s policy on how many offers one student may hold.

Running a drive

Recruiter

The company record lists the roles offered, the package and the eligibility criteria the recruiter has set.

Registration

Students apply through the portal, and the eligible list is generated from the criteria the recruiter has set and is not assembled by hand from several spreadsheets.

Stages

Aptitude, technical and interview rounds are recorded, with the students who cleared each round.

Offers

Each offer is marked made, accepted or declined against the student. Nothing is left implied.

Calendar

Drives across the season sit on one calendar. Two recruiters are not booked into the same slot by accident.

Internships and alumni

Opportunities

Internships are listed with duration and stipend, and students apply through the same portal used for drives.

Approval

The department approves an internship where academic credit is attached, and what the regulation requires for that credit is set during implementation. Approval is recorded.

Record and evaluation

The record shows where the student went, what they did and the evaluation returned by the organisation.

Alumni

The record continues after graduation, with contact details, events and engagement.

Reports

Placement count by branch, packages offered and students still unplaced can be reported for accreditation and for management review, drawn from the live record.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is eligibility calculated live?

Yes. CGPA and live backlogs come from the academic record and not from a copy made at the start of the season. The shortlist reflects the latest results.

Can the placement officer see this without access to everything else?

Yes. The placement officer sees eligibility, recruiters, drives and offers. Fee records and marks entry are outside that role, and each role is configured during implementation.

How are internships with academic credit handled?

The opportunity, the application and the department’s approval are recorded, along with the organisation’s evaluation. Where the regulation attaches credit, it is carried into the academic record.

Can a student hold more than one offer?

It depends on your policy. Colleges differ on whether a placed student may sit further drives, and the rule is configured to yours.

What does it report for accreditation?

Placement count by branch and year, offers and packages, internships completed and students still unplaced. The figures come from the live record, and the format for each visit is reviewed with you.
