Remedy Selection Notes for Homeopathy Cases

The doctor’s working for a prescription is kept with the case. It lists the symptoms chosen, the remedies considered and why one was prescribed, so a later visit can start from that reasoning.

What is kept

Remedy selection is the doctor’s own judgement. This module only gives it a place in the record.

Symptoms chosen

The rubrics or symptoms the doctor took as the basis of the prescription are listed in the doctor’s own wording.

Remedies considered

The shortlist of remedies, with a line on how each fitted or did not fit, stays in the note.

Reason for the choice

A sentence on why the final remedy was preferred helps when the case is reviewed after a poor response.

Notes on a change of remedy

When the remedy is changed at a follow-up, the note records what the patient reported that led to it.

How it fits the visit

The note sits between case taking and the prescription. The doctor writes it on the same screen where the case was taken, then moves to the prescription. At the next visit, the earlier note opens alongside the patient’s report.

Repertory software

Many homeopaths use a separate repertory or materia medica program. GullySystem does not replace it. The doctor may copy the result into the note. Whether a link to a particular program is possible depends on that program and is reviewed during scoping.

What this does not do

It does not suggest a remedy and does not rank one remedy over another. Choosing the remedy and the potency stays with the doctor. Notes are private to the doctor unless the clinic opens them to others.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the system recommend remedies?

No. It records the doctor’s reasoning. The choice of remedy is made by the doctor.

Can another doctor read my notes?

Only where the clinic allows it. Notes can be kept to the treating doctor or opened to colleagues in the same clinic.

Is it compulsory to fill the note?

That is decided by the clinic. Some doctors write one for every case, and others only for chronic or difficult ones.

Can a repertory printout be attached?

Yes. A printout or screenshot from the repertory program can be attached to the visit as a document.
