Consignment Notes for Packers and Movers
A loaded lorry leaves with papers, and those papers decide what happens if goods go missing. The consignment note is raised from the move file and stays joined to it.
What the note carries
Papers held with the move
Transit papers travel with the lorry, but a copy belongs in the office. Scanned copies and photographs are attached to the move, which means the desk can answer a question without calling the driver. Where the customer has taken cover for the goods, the consignment record also carries the policy reference and the insurer’s name. What that policy pays, and on what terms, stays between the customer and the insurer.
Who uses the note later
What this module does not claim
- The wording and terms printed on your note are your own
- Any statutory paper a vehicle must carry is for you and your advisor
- Cover is bought from an insurer, not arranged here
- A note is raised only after loading, never before
Frequently asked questions
Can the note print on our own format?
Yes. Your existing layout and terms are set up during implementation, and the fields come from the move file.
Does the package count fill itself?
Yes, from the packing list. The supervisor can correct it at loading, and the change stays visible on the record.
Where is the policy number kept?
On the move, beside the note. What the insurer accepts is a matter between the customer and that insurer.
Can a scanned signed copy be attached?
Yes. A photograph taken on a phone is enough, and it stays with the move for later reference.
