Pre-Move Survey for Packers and Movers
A surveyor walks the house room by room and lists what will be shifted. The list carries photos, fragile marks and the lift and parking details for both addresses.
What the surveyor lists
Access at both addresses
Access decides the crew size and the vehicle. The floor, whether the lift takes a wardrobe, the width of the stairway and the distance from the gate to the lorry all sit on the survey. A narrow lane at the delivery end may need a small tempo for the last stretch. Photos of the stairs, the lift and the gate are attached to the same record.
What the survey feeds
What the survey does not settle
- Declared value is what the customer states, not a valuation by the surveyor
- Transit cover and its terms stay between the customer and the insurer
- A volume formula, where you use one, follows your present practice
- Items added on packing day are entered then, against the same move
Frequently asked questions
Can the survey be done on a phone?
Yes. The surveyor works through the rooms on the phone, adds photos as he goes, and the list saves against that address.
What if the family adds goods on packing day?
The crew adds them to the same move, and the extra cartons and labour show on the final bill with the reason.
Can a survey be done without a visit?
For a small shift, yes. Photos or a video walk-through from the customer can carry the list, and the crew checks it on arrival.
Does the customer get a copy of the list?
Yes. The item list can be sent by WhatsApp or mail with the quotation, so both sides hold the same count.
Who can edit a survey after it is signed?
Only the roles the owner allows. Every change shows the staff member who made it, with the earlier figure kept.
