Sheet, Flex and LED Stock for Signage Workshops
Stock records cover sheets, rolls, letter stock, LED modules and power supplies. Issues are made against a job, so each board shows the material it used and the workshop can see what is left.
What is tracked
Issue against jobs
Material is issued from the job card. The issue takes the quantity off stock and puts it against that board. A sheet issued twice for one job stands out in the record, and a board that used more than its quoted material can be seen when the job closes.
Who works with it
- Storekeepers receive and issue material
- The workshop sees which offcuts are on the rack
- Owners see items below reorder level
- Estimators see what a past board used, before pricing the next one
What the stock record does not do
It counts what is booked in and out. It does not weigh scrap or catch material taken without a job card. The shelf is checked against the count from time to time, and how often is the client’s call.
Frequently asked questions
Can stock be split between two workshops?
Yes. Each workshop or godown keeps its own count, and a transfer moves material from one to the other.
Does a supplier’s bill update the stock?
Material is added when the storekeeper books it in against the bill. Payment to the supplier is handled in your accounts.
Can wastage be recorded?
Yes. Wastage is booked against the job, so the quantity cut and the quantity the board used can be read together.
