Timetable and Room Planning for Coaching Batches
The weekly timetable says which batch sits in which room, at what time, with which faculty member. It is built once a season and edited when a teacher or a slot changes.
Building the week
A sitting is one line on the timetable, and the centre fills the week batch by batch.
Changes during the season
Timetables at a coaching centre move often. A faculty member falls ill and a substitute takes the sitting, so the swap is recorded against that single date rather than the weekly pattern. A hall is needed for a mock test, and two batches shift to another room for the morning. Extra doubt sittings are added before a board paper. Faculty hours and attendance stay correct, because each change carries its own date.
Who reads the timetable
What this module does not do
- It does not build a timetable on its own from subject and teacher counts
- It does not pay faculty, though the hours it records feed the pay working
- It does not book rooms for anything other than batch sittings and tests
- Which clashes block a save and which only warn is settled with the coordinator
Frequently asked questions
Will it stop a teacher being put in two rooms at once?
Yes. A faculty member or a room already used in that slot is flagged before the line can be saved.
Can a one-off extra class be added?
Yes. A doubt sitting or revision class is placed on a single date without touching the weekly pattern.
How does a substitute teacher show up?
The sitting carries the substitute’s name for that date, and the hours count towards the substitute rather than the regular teacher.
Do parents see the timetable?
Where the centre turns that on. Parents then read only the sittings of the batches their child belongs to.
