X-ray and Report Files for Chiropractic Clinics
X-ray images, MRI reports and outside prescriptions are attached to the patient’s record, each with its date and source. The chiropractor opens them beside the assessment instead of searching a drawer.
What can be attached
Where the files are used
The doctor opens a file from the assessment screen or the visit note. Reception attaches paper brought by the patient, and the doctor reviews it. A scan taken before treatment sits next to one taken after, in date order.
Whether the clinic takes its own X-rays
Some clinics refer patients to an imaging centre. Others have their own machine. The software stores the files in either case. It does not read images and it does not control any imaging equipment.
Limits to settle at scoping
File size, the number of images per patient and how long files are kept are agreed with the clinic. Radiology rules for the clinic’s own X-ray room are for the clinic to confirm.
Frequently asked questions
Can the files be opened on a phone?
Yes, for users who have access. The clinic decides who among its staff may open images.
Does it read the X-ray?
No. The chiropractor or radiologist reads the image. The software only stores and displays it.
Can the patient be given a copy?
Yes. A file can go to the patient on WhatsApp or through email, and the send is logged against the patient.
Can DICOM files be stored?
Whether DICOM files are stored or only exported images is confirmed during scoping, after seeing what your imaging centre supplies.
