Phone Access for Electrical Site Supervisors and Technicians
Supervisors and technicians enter attendance, material use, measurements, photographs and fault calls from their own phones while on site. The office and the owner see each entry as it is made.
What can be done from a phone
A site has no desk, and a notebook gets typed up days later. The phone brings the entry to the moment of the work.
Weak signal and shared phones
Basements and new buildings often have poor network. Entries made without signal are held on the phone and sent when it returns, so the supervisor does not wait. Where several technicians share one phone, each logs in with their own name.
What each person can open
The phone shows only what the role needs. Technicians see assigned work and calls. A supervisor sees their own sites. The owner sees all sites, costs and balances.
What the phone does not replace
Quotations, billing and accounts remain on the office screen. Which phones the firm provides, and what technicians may do on their own devices, is for the owner to decide before the team starts using it.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need a special app?
It opens as a web page on the phone, and how it is installed on the home screen is shown during set-up.
Can entries be made without internet?
Basic entries such as attendance can be saved on the phone and sent when signal returns. What is held offline is confirmed during scoping.
Can a supervisor see another site’s costs?
Only when the owner switches that on. Costs and balances can be limited to the office and the owner.
Can photographs be taken inside the system?
Yes. A photograph taken from the entry screen is attached to the area and the date.
