Lift Breakdown and Entrapment Call Desk

Every call about a stopped lift is logged against the lift itself, not against a phone number. A technician is then sent, and the call closes with what he found.

What the desk records on a call

A call takes seconds to log. The record it leaves is complete enough to answer for later.

Caller and lift

Who rang, from which building and about which lift, picked from the building record rather than typed afresh.

Whether anyone is inside

An entrapment is marked when a passenger is still in the car. Those calls head the list.

Fault reported

What the caller describes, in short terms such as doors not closing, lift not moving, or stopping between floors.

Time of the call

The hour the call reached the desk is stored by the system. It cannot be edited afterwards.

Sending and following a technician

A technician is picked from the route that covers the building, and the call appears on his phone. Reassignment is possible when the nearest man is already at another site. He marks himself on the way and then at the site, so the desk can answer a committee asking where he has reached. Escalation of an entrapment to a second man or a supervisor follows your own rule.

Closing the call

A call closes on what the technician found, not on what the caller guessed.

Fault found

The actual cause, chosen from your own fault list and written in the technician’s own words where it does not fit.

Work done and parts fitted

What was repaired, adjusted or replaced, with each part issued against this lift so the history stays honest.

Chargeable or inside cover

The contract decides this. The desk marks it so accounts staff know whether to raise an invoice.

Pending for a part

Where a control card or a rope is awaited, the call stays open and visible with the part named.

What the call desk does not do

  • It receives nothing automatically from the lift, unless a monitoring link is built
  • It gives no rescue instruction, and your own procedure governs that
  • It states nothing about what any authority requires of a lift owner
  • Escalation rules and response targets are agreed with you, not assumed
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a repeat fault on one lift be seen quickly?

Yes. The lift history lists every call with its fault found, so a machine that keeps failing is obvious.

Does the caller get any message?

Where you want it. A message on logging and another on closing can go by WhatsApp or text to the facility contact.

How are night calls handled?

The call is logged by whoever is on duty, and the phone of the technician on night turn receives it.

Can two technicians be sent to one call?

Yes. A second technician or a supervisor can be added, and both names stay on the call record.

Is the response time measured?

The record holds the call time and the time the technician marked himself at the site. What that target should be is yours.
