Affiliated and Autonomous Colleges
Examinations run differently in an affiliated college and an autonomous one. The system supports both, by importing the university result or by setting and publishing the college’s own.
Two examination arrangements
An affiliated college follows its university’s regulation, schedule and result. An autonomous college sets its own question papers, publishes its own results and often runs its own regulation. The records around the examinations, such as admissions, attendance and fees, are similar in both. The examination arrangement is what changes the system.

Where it does not fit
The system is not built for a university that manages affiliation and examinations for other colleges, which is a different system. A school up to Class 12 is better served by the product made for schools.
Frequently asked questions
Can more than one regulation run at the same time?
Yes. Students admitted in different years can follow different regulations, and each is assessed under the one they joined.
What if a college is moving towards autonomy?
Both arrangements can run side by side during the transition, so the older batches continue under the university arrangement.
Do affiliated colleges still record internal marks?
Yes. Internal assessment is recorded by the college and kept with the university result on the student record.
Can a polytechnic use it?
Yes, for institutions that run a semester pattern. Programmes and regulations are configured to match.
