Resource Allocation for Interior Design Projects
Resource allocation assigns designers, site supervisors, carpenters, painters and contractors to projects with dates. It shows who is free next week, and it flags one person booked on two sites at once.
Who is on which project
Designers, site supervisors, carpenters, painters and regular contractors are assigned to projects with start and end dates. A studio usually has a few people who are wanted on several sites at the same time. Seeing every assignment in one place is where planning starts. Nothing is kept in memory.
The week ahead
What the owner decides from it
- Whether the studio can take on another project this month
- Which designer receives a new enquiry
- Whether a large site needs a second supervisor before carpentry starts
- Who covers a site while somebody is away
What it does not do
The software shows the clash and does not resolve it. A person looks at the week, moves somebody and informs the client. Where a supervisor genuinely covers two sites in one day, both bookings stay visible. The decision stays with the studio.
Frequently asked questions
Can contract carpenters be allocated, and not only staff?
Yes. Carpenters, painters and contractors are scheduled across sites in the same way. What they are paid books to the project they worked on. Nothing is entered twice.
Does it stop a double booking?
It warns. Both bookings remain visible, and a person decides which one stands. Some clashes are deliberate.
Can a designer see only her own week?
Yes. Designers open their own projects and tasks, and the owner sees everybody. Roles decide what each person can open. The setting is reviewed during implementation.
