Commissioning and Handover Records for Rooftop Solar Plants
When a plant is switched on, the commissioning sheet records the readings, the inverter settings and the monitoring login. The handover checklist is signed by the customer and stays on the job.
The commissioning sheet
Handover to the customer
The engineer walks the customer through the plant and the checklist. It covers cleaning advice, what an inverter alarm looks like and whom to call. The customer signs, on paper or on a phone, and the signed copy is attached to the site folder. Questions are answered on the spot.
What closes the job
A commissioned plant starts its warranty dates, creates the first service reminder and releases the handover invoice. The job is then closed and filed with its photos and readings. It stays searchable.
What commissioning does not do
- It does not replace any inspection or sign-off that the DISCOM requires.
- The readings are entered by your engineer. The system does not measure anything.
- Which readings your checklist needs is decided with you.
- Remote monitoring data stays in the inverter maker’s own portal.
Frequently asked questions
Can the customer sign on a phone?
Yes. The engineer can capture the signature on a handset or tablet, or scan a paper copy afterwards. Both copies are kept.
Does the checklist differ by plant type?
Yes. On-grid, off-grid and hybrid plants have separate sheets, since the tests and settings are not the same.
Is the warranty start date set here?
Yes. Warranty dates run from the commissioning date unless your suppliers count from another date, which is set with you.
Can a handover pack be printed?
Yes. The sheet, the serial list and the service contact can be printed as one pack for the customer.
