Syllabus and Topic Coverage for Coaching Batches
Parents pay a coaching centre to finish the portion in time. This module holds the topic plan for each subject and records what was actually taught in every sitting.
The topic plan
A plan is written once per subject and reused by every batch that studies it.
Ticking what was taught
At the end of a sitting the faculty member marks the topics covered and adds a line of remarks where a chapter was only started. The tick sits on the batch and the date, beside the attendance for that sitting. A topic retaught after a weak test result is recorded again. The batch view then shows the portion done and the portion pending. Nothing depends on memory.
Who reads coverage
What this module does not do
- It does not write the syllabus, which the centre’s own faculty draw up
- It does not judge teaching quality from a tick against a topic
- It does not copy a board or university syllabus into the system for you
- Whether a topic needs a coordinator’s sign-off is settled with the centre
Frequently asked questions
Can two batches of one subject move at different speeds?
Yes. Each batch keeps its own coverage against the shared plan, so a slower evening batch shows up on its own.
Does the faculty member have to tick every sitting?
That is how the pending portion stays accurate. Centres usually ask for a tick along with the attendance marking.
Is coverage linked to the tests?
Yes, where a test names its chapters. The faculty member can then see which taught topics were actually examined.
Can the plan be changed mid season?
Yes. Topics can be added or reordered, and coverage already ticked stays against the sittings where it was recorded.
